Animal Therapy // October
This week on the Animal Therapy Wednesday, we have an albino edition for you!
Albinism is an inherited genetic condition in which people and animals are born with less amount of melanin. Their bodies cannot produce more melanin which results in the typical white-colored skin and hair. Since animals with albinism are a rare occurrence, the following selection of animals are a beautiful sight to see!
Studies have shown that interacting with animals can increase people's level of the hormone oxytocin. Oxytocin helps us feel happy and trusting. Oxytocin has some powerful effects for us in the body's ability to be in a state of readiness to heal, and also to grow new cells, so it predisposes us to an environment in our own bodies where we can be healthier.
