THE BREATH OF LIFE

From the start till the end you breathe your whole life. It’s is a subconscious proces which you can influence consciously. When you influence the breath, you instantly influence your state of being and vice versa. Breathe to relax, breathe to energise, breathe for change, there are many ways to do it.

Although we take around 80% of our energy from oxygen, we don’t learn much about breathing. Besides the physical process there is the movement of the breath, or flow, that can make tensions and stress in the body‘melt’ or release.

So the way you breathe tells a lot about the way you live your life. Come and join our conscious breathing journeys: The Breath of Life.

WIM HOF BREATHING & MEDITATION EXERCISES

The Wim Hof Method is similar to Tummo (inner heat) Meditation and Pranayama (yogic breathing). Yet it is something else entirely. While Wim has read a lot of books on yoga and meditation for many years, this technique primordially comes from what he terms ‘cold hard nature’. By subjecting himself to the bitter conditions of nature, he learned to withstand the extreme forces of cold, heat and fear. If you learn this method or technique correctly, it will empower you to do to the same.

YOGA & PRANAYAMA

Every month at The Conscious Club with Ramon Kinkel we have a special Yoga & Pranayama class. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Therefore, in its broadest description, Pranayama would mean the control of the flow of life force. 

During breathing for Pranayama inhalation (puraka) stimulates the system and fills the lungs with fresh air; retention (kumbhaka) raises the internal temperature and plays an important part in increasing the absorption of oxygen; exhalation (rechak) causes the diaphragm to return to the original position and air full of toxins and impurities is forced out by the contraction of inter-costal muscles. These are the main components leading to Pranayama which massage the abdominal muscles and tone up the working of various organs of the body. Due to the proper functions of these organs, vital energy flows to all the systems. The success of Pranayama depends on proper ratios being maintained between inhalation, exhalation and retention.

These classes are very suitable for all Ayurvedic constitutions.

In this workshop we explain and explore the three components of the scientifically based Wim Hof Method:
- breathing techniques
- mindset/ focus
- cold immersion (optional)
