Capoeira

Acrobatic, expressive, interactive, playful.
Capoeira is all of these things, and more!

Capoeira is different from any other martial art. It was created five hundred years ago by African slaves to fight the oppression, in Brazil. A fight combined with acrobatics and music, mixed with cultural expression. This form of Martial Art offers immense benefits for the body. It helps in toning and strengthening quadriceps, buttocks and hamstrings while performing the routines as a dance. Capoeira was a strictly forbidden practice back in the 18th century and could get you serious punishment. Yet it has survived, and is now being practiced all over the world.

Vinyasa Dance Flow

In Vinyasa Dance Flow, you are singing a song with your body. Music drives the Vinyasa Dance Flow classes and frames the whole sequence. You gently move from one posture to another carried by the music, bringing you into a trance-like, almost meditative state. Movement and breath are ONE. We practice the actual movement between the postures, not the posture itself. Vinyasa Dance Flow has different sequences with slow, fast, upbeat, relaxing songs starting from Hip Hop to pop music. It’s wonderfully amusing and heart warming. It is an evolution of Vinyasa Yoga, building up a choreography with Yoga asanas.

NATURAL MOVEMENT YOGA

Do you want to broaden your yoga practice and find your individual way of moving? Or do you come from another movement background and want to start yoga?

In Movement Yoga we bring different movement disciplines together. The classes start with a thirty minutes movement warm-up with exercises reaching from dancing; play fights to cognitive games connected to the topic of the class. After that, we go to the mat for the yoga sequence where we can integrate and apply the skills we learned before.

In the specially designed yoga sequences, we create a safe space for you to express your individual way of moving in short free flowing breaks.

Ecstatic Dance

Ecstatic dance is a style of free form dance in which the music is the teacher. In this form of dance, there is no structure or steps to follow! Ecstatic Dance empowers people of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds to freely express themselves; the liberating atmosphere creates a melting pot of acceptance and the fearlessness with which others move gives newbies permission and courage to dance without inhibition.

BUDOKON YOGA SERIES

Mixed Movement Arts Yoga

As warriors we cultivate the courage to change what can be changed. As Yogis we cultivate an understanding and acceptance of what we cannot. As Humans we learn to discern the difference between the two. Learn how Budokon combines martial arts and yogic principles taught in the tradition of our Budokon system – the ‘Way of the Warrior Spirit’. Budokon Yoga style continues to be one of the most influential and important innovations in modern Yoga history. 

During this Budokon Yoga Series workshop Svenja Carolin Dietrich prepares you to unite the mind, spirit and body - the greatest of battles - in seven sections. You learn how to combine strong and circular sequence of yogic asanas, martial arts transitions and animal locomotion in the ‘Way of the Warrior Spirit’. This unique mixed movement arts yoga system helps you to increase your muscular strength, body control and stability, agility, mobility and the cultivation of pure witness state zen mind.
