Master Discovery ๑ Four Sessions on a Burnout

Burnout seems to have become a mass phenomenon, receiving constant media attention. More and more people are missing work due to burnout. In Amsterdam, one out of 5 employees are suffering from burnout complaints

BURNOUT
You don't wake up one morning and all of a sudden "have burnout." Its nature is much more insidious, creeping up on us over time like a slow leak, which makes it much harder to recognize. Still, our bodies and minds do give us warnings, and if you know what to look for, you can recognize it before it's too late.

Burnout is considered to have a wide range of symptoms. There is no general agreement about which of those are part of burnout and which are not.
A stressful lifestyle can put people under extreme pressure, to the point that they feel exhausted, empty, burned out, and unable to cope.

There are three main areas of symptoms that are considered to be signs of burnout:

1. SIGNS OF PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL EXHAUSTION
Such as chronic fatigue, insomnia, forgetfulness, impaired concentration and attention. Physical symptoms; such as chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, fainting or headaches. Increased illness, loss of appetite, anxiety, depression and anger.

2. SIGNS OF CYNICISM AND DETACHMENT
Such as loss of enjoyment, increased pessimism, isolation and detachment.

3. SIGNS OF INEFFECTIVENESS AND LACK OF ACCOMPLISHMENT
Such as feelings of apathy and hopelessness. Increased irritability. Lack of productivity and poor performance.


If you are experiencing some of these symptoms, this should be a wake-up call that you may be on the path towards a burnout. Take some time to honestly assess the amount of stress in your life and find ways to reduce it before it's too late. Burnout isn't like the flu; it doesn't go away after a few weeks unless you make some changes in your life. And as hard as that may seem, it's the smartest thing to do because making a few little changes now will keep you in the race with a lot of gas to get you across the finish line.


HISTORY OF BURNOUT
The term “burnout” was coined in the 1970s by the American psychologist Herbert Freudenberger. He used it to describe the consequences of severe stress and high ideals in “helping” professions. Doctors and nurses, for example, who sacrifice themselves for others, would often end up being “burned out” – exhausted, listless, and unable to cope. Nowadays, the term is not only used for these helping professions, or for the dark side of self-sacrifice. It seems it can affect anyone, from stressed-out careerists and celebrities to overworked employees and homemakers.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

About Annelies Vette - Certified Mindfulness Teacher and Coach
Annelies (1979) suffered from a burn-out and thought she would never function normal again. She has a background in Human Resources and Law and worked for more than ten years in the corporate world in the financial and banking industry. She is an experienced coach and is trained in mindset coaching, releasing (emotional) trauma, mindfulness and has extensive knowledge of stress and releasing it.

About Ramon Kinkel - Certified Yoga Instructor
Years ago, after a double burnout, on his search for a healthier and more balanced life, Ramon found the path of yoga. He noticed the positive impact yoga and meditation had on his life and began to deepen his knowledge of yoga. While traveling through South-East Asia together with a yoga teacher, Ramon was so inspired he decided to travel to India to pursue his yogic passions. Currently, Ramon is here at The Conscious Club with hopes to spread his knowledge with love and joy. His goal is to allow his students to leave his class stronger, more flexible, and most importantly, free from any tensions or stress. His classes include traditional Hatha yoga Asana, Pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation.

About Ernst Den Hertog - Physical Therapist & Orthomolecular Therapist
Ernst is a holistic physical and orthomolecular therapist. He is as interested in health (care) and prevention as in the individual way with which people perceive their own health. Giving insight in how your body works and explaining the physiology of healing, brings out the best in him. By adding aspects like sense of purpose and looking at stress in a beneficial way, he makes his work valuable to both his clients and himself.

About Alicia Ingruber - Certified Yoga Instructor
Alicia is a certified Vinyasa, Core Flow, Yin and Hiit Yoga Teacher. Yoga was first introduced to Alicia in a doctor’s office in Australia. At 17 years old, she had just moved back to her home country and was going through a difficult time. The heartbreak of leaving behind her life overseas and the stress of trying to fit into a new school cause her to develop chronic pain. Her doctor prescribed yoga but the only class that was available in her area was a Body Balance class at the local gym – a mix of Yoga, Pilates, and Thai Chi. It was challenging but she knew she needed more of it, which led her to explore other forms of exercise and feel the empowerment of movement as medicine. Yoga then became a central part of her life, helping her build confidence, nurture her sense of self-love and heal her through heartbreak and burnout. Alicia firmly believes that yoga is for everyone, it’s just about finding the style and teacher that resonates best with you.

Insight Yoga

Insight Yoga involves insights from mindfulness, zen, and self-inquiry, applied to gentle yoga.

Many of us come to a yoga class not only to move and stretch our bodies but also, or even primarily, to find some peace of mind. Yoga brings you into the present moment - from the head to the heart. Being mindful means: paying conscious attention without judgment. When we learn to be in the moment without resistance, natural ease will unfold. Applying mindfulness in yoga strengthens its calming effect! But is possible to go even further and discover the truth within - the unmovable peace that lies inside your heart. Insight yoga enhances this deeper seeing.

The class starts with meditation and some chi qong exercises. After, we will do simple yoga asanas as well as yin poses. Focusing on the body even in movement calms the mind. The more static yin yoga provides ample space for contemplation. We will work with introspective questions such as ‘Where does the movement begin?’ or ‘Who or what is perceiving this now?’ This will help you to see there is no separate ‘person’ doing the yoga. Rather, life is an unfolding of experiences.

When this is seen, yoga - and all of life - becomes much more effortless and joyful.

The Hip Openers ๑ Each Month a Different Yoga Discipline

Your hips are the connection point of both the spine and the legs. The ‘hip girdle’ and the 17-25 muscles that it encompasses are the central station of the body. We could refers to the hips as ‘the mother of all movement. When they’re open, you’ll be much more mobile above and below them’. So working on hip mobility improves your relationship with the rest of your body and its overall wellbeing. In yoga we are able to move our ball-and-socket hip joint through its full range of motion, and move in ways that break our usual patterns, whether those patterns are ones of underuse from a sedentary lifestyle, or overuse of particular muscles and neglect of others from a very active lifestyle.

Once a month we'll take a journey through the hip openers of a variety of yoga disciplines.

AYURVEDIC LIFESTYLE CLASS

The word Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit language. ‘Ayur’, originally ‘ayuh’, means life and ‘veda’ is the wisdom or insightful knowledge. Ayurveda can thus be translated as ‘the knowledge or science of life’. Ayurveda offers knowledge to increase awareness of your individual mind-body constitution and the factors that may cause imbalance and shows you ways to create balance by regulating the systems of the body through diet, lifestyle, herbs, yoga, and meditation. It is based on the five element theory and in particular the wisdom of how to live according to your unique and individual constitution. The practice of Ayurveda is designed to promote human happiness, health, and creative growth.

During our monthly special classes, we will be looking at the changes in the season and how you can integrate this into your Asana practice. This class will be partly theory and partly asana practice.

Acu Yin Yoga

Acu-Yoga is a practice that combines two disciplines: Acupressure and Yoga. Both techniques aim to improve and rebalance energy circulation. From this perspective, it is believed that when there is a stagnation in energy circulation it will cause imbalance, disharmony, and disease. Tension accumulates in the body due to underuse or overuse of muscles, repetitive movements, emotional repression or a poor diet. Accumulated tension can increase body toxicity and weaken the immune system.

Yoga and in particular Yin Yoga with its long-held poses is an effective way to stretch meridians. It increases body awareness and the use of breath as support through the overall process.

With acupressure, we manipulate the body through the stimulation of meridian points on limbs, the torso, and the head.

When we use Yin and Acupressure together we enhance their effect. The practice helps release energy flow into meridians and nourishes the organs in all body systems. During the class, we will create a balance of emotions and a feeling of overall well being.

IMPORTANT
Participants are invited to come 15 minutes before the class starts to be shown the correct acupressure points that will be used during the session.

Yoga and Hang drum Sessions

Hang drums have been designed after years of research into the percussion instruments. There are a number of notes and tone fields around the surface giving rise to different quality sounds. The sound produced with hang drums is very warm and softer than all other percussion instruments. Due to the richness of the sound produced, it has a healing effect upon the mind and the body.

In this class, we’re combining these healing sounds with the healing power of yoga and meditation. The teachers will guide you through this class with nice sounds and a hatha-based yoga sequence followed by meditation. Their goal is to let you leave this class without any tensions or stress, and with a big smile on your face!

Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra for self-healing!

In these healing sessions, we will use the wholesome and transformative powers of restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to return to our essence: a healthy, whole, happy being.

In our daily lives we accumulate tension, our heads are full and we can feel the stress in our body. Restorative yoga allows you to completely let go and release the body so it can relax and restore. We use props to support the body so the poses can work in its most beneficial way. Making it suitable for anybody, even when you are physically not feeling well. Restorative yoga is not so much about doing, working, or putting the effort in it. It is about letting go and surrender, being with the stillness. That is where the challenge is. The body can soften and open, space is being created for the energy to flow and the nervous system can balance.

Yoga Nidra is only deepening that state of relaxation and recovery. It is an effortless practice where you lie comfortably and listen to a voice guiding you into a conscious sleep. You will drop into a state
with progressively slower brainwaves, where the body naturally recovers and heals and you find true rest. You will have the benefits of an advanced meditative practice without any effort.

SESSION 1 ๑ Open Up to Inner Peace

In this session, we turn to our inner peace, the silence that is always there amidst the turbulence of life.
The peace within that keeps us balanced no matter how much noise is around us. Confronted with challenges from raising a child and pursuing a career, pressure from you to do and bucket lists, your
goals, and desires, thoughts and emotions are going like crazy. There we pull the plug and let all the craziness float through until we are left with the silence behind it all. We shift from thinking to feeling and from doing into being and we are no longer controlled by our mind. We surrender to complete relaxation.

SESSION 2 ๑ Release Energy and Let It Flow

After we have found stillness and turned to our inside world, we will focus on our Pranamaya Kosha, our energy body. Prana is our life force energy, the body’s healing energy. When we have stilled our minds and we are not consumed by our thoughts and emotions, prana can focus on healing. We will raise the level of energy in our body and let it flow freely, opening up our chakra’s. Then by directing our energy, we can release physical and emotional blocks. Emotions that are repressed or just too much to handle cause energy blocks in our body - think of stress causing physical ailments. Without having to dig into the original problem we can release the energy and let it flow through again.

SESSION 3 ๑ Discover Your Essence

When we have stilled the noise and we are in touch with our feelings and energy, there comes to space to see behind the clutter. Space to look inside and discover your true self. When we let go of
judgment, limiting beliefs and interpretations that affect the way we perceive events and how we react to life, we can see who we really are. We can see ourselves in all our splendor, whole and
connected to our heart. We can live from our purpose, relying on our intuition, our inner compass or wisdom. In that state we are in total balance, our systems are in balance and our body can function
optimally.

SESSION 4 ๑ Restore, Heal and Transform

Now we are ready to transform. We can plant new impressions and tendencies on how we want to be and interact to change our lives accordingly. We will use Sankalpa, intention, at the most subtle levels of our being. Meaning this seed we plant will grow from a subconscious level, which is far more powerful than only consciously planted. You can transform into being nothing but yourself, a more natural, fuller version of yourself. Whole and healed.

Inside Flow Yoga ๑ Sing A Song With Your Body

Music is the driving force behind Inside Flow Yoga Classes, framing the entire sequence to create an integrated, melodic experience. As you are carried by the music, you gently move from one posture to another, as you enter a trance-like, meditative state. Movement and breath are one.

To tap into this internal rhythm you realize that they are already synchronized. What is found here then is the experience of enhancing the breath. In this way, we focus on the core idea of expressing the movement between the postures, rather than reaching toward the end goal of the posture.

In Inside Flow, you are singing a song with your body. Each language is unique, and you will be encouraged to find your own. With varied sequences of upbeat, fast, slow and relaxing rhythms, the music will range from Hip Hop to Pop. This evolution of Vinyasa Yoga is wonderfully amusing and heartwarming!

Hatha and Breath Work

In these series, we'll dive into Pranayama breathing techniques. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Though it's often associated with rapid breathing, Pranayama is all about control of the breath. The breath is the tool that unites body with the mind. When linking breath with movement, we gradually develop a relationship with the length, depth and pace of our inhale and exhale. This synchronicity creates balance.

In this class, we will start with the practice of asana (poses), the third limb of the eight limbs of yoga mentioned in the yoga sutras of Patanjali. By starting the class with asana (poses), the energy will flow through the body and you will sit more comfortable in a meditative pose to practice pranayama.

The asana's will be followed by the practice of pranayama, the fourth limb in the yoga sutras. The practice of pranayama will balance the energy in your body and will clear your mind from thoughts. This will help you get deeper into a guided meditation at the end of the class.

About Ramon Kinkel
Years ago, on his search for a healthier and more balanced life, Ramon found the path of yoga. Ramon spent months in ashrams, where he learned and experienced the deepest meanings of yoga. After his spiritual birthday, his guru, dr. Guruji Omanand gave him the name Rama Anand, named after the Hindu god Rama. As Rama Anand, he became teacher and host at Paramanand Ashram Indore, India. Currently his classes include traditional Hatha yoga asana, pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation.

Four nights to deepen and explore your yin practice and chakra meditation. Every evening is specified on one or two chakras. The seven main chakras we focus on are connected to our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Guided through the varied poses, specified at the different chakras of the evening. Ending of course with a chakra meditation.


๑ MULADHARA & SVADHISTANA
Date: Thursday the 10th of January from 20:00-21:30

The first workshop is about grounding and finding security. Muladhara & Svadhistana are the first two chakras, which are about grounding. The Muladhara chakra is connected with the element earth and means root support, while the Svadhistana is connected with water. Muladhara is representing physical and emotional grounding. It’s about survival, we cannot survive without our roots.
Svadhistana is the connection to joy, pleasure and desire. How can my creativity and my sensual self be fulfilled and balanced through the work I do in the world?
The physical focus this evening will be at the lower body parts, the feet, legs & pelvic floor.

๑ ANAHATA
Date: Thursday the 14th of February from 20:00-22:00

This evening is all about the heart, an evening of transformation. The opening of the chest, stretches in the shoulders and the arms. Anahata is connected to the element Air and is the level of transformation, of turning away from the material and sensual to the spiritual. It is the middle centre of the seven chakras, the balancing point.


๑ MANIPURA & VISUDDHA
Date: Thursday the 14th of March from 20:00-22:00

Today is about Manipura & Vissudha chakra. Manipura is the centre of fire. A place of your identity, will power, self-esteem. The seat of our determination. A place where we digest food, and also life. Related to the question, who am I?
Visuddha on the other hand is the centre of communication to the world, but it’s also the centre of listening. How do I express that and how do I communicate with others?
This evening will be about both, about the loop between these two. The relationship with ourselves is influencing the relation to others.
We will be doing a bit of pranayama to create more relaxation, focusing on twisting and soften the belly in the different poses.


๑ AJNA & SAHASRARA
Date: Thursday the 11th of April from 20:00-22:00

The last evening is about these last two higher chakras. The Ajna & Sahasrara; the third eye and the crown. Ajna is the seat of our wisdom and consciousness. Sahasrara chakra is the chakra of our highest spiritual consciousness. It is about eventually being non-attached to the self. An evening to explore the higher part of ourselves. Through poses being blind-folded and meditation.

Zen Special is a practice that combines two disciplines: Yin Yoga and Body Scan meditation. Both practices aim to increase body awareness.

The long-held poses of the restorative Yin Yoga effectively stretch the meridians (the energy channels that oversee the energy flow of the body) which increases body awareness.

The Body Scan practice is a meditation that guides you systematically through various parts of your body, starting from your feet to your face. This meditation helps you to be more conscious about your bodily sensations, reduce stress, relieve tension, and decrease bodily aches.

With the combination of powerful practices such as Yin Yoga and Body Scan not only the richness of the class is enhanced, but also the effect. The conscious focus on your body can make you aware about sources of pain and tension you weren’t aware of before, such as clenched muscles. Your hips are the connection point of both the spine and the legs. The ‘hip girdle’ and the 17-25 muscles that it encompasses are the central station of the body. We could refers to the hips as ‘the mother of all movement. When they’re open, you’ll be much more mobile above and below them’. So working on hip mobility improves your relationship with the rest of your body and its overall wellbeing. In yoga we are able to move our ball-and-socket hip joint through its full range of motion, and move in ways that break our usual patterns, whether those patterns are ones of underuse from a sedentary lifestyle, or overuse of particular muscles and neglect of others from a very active lifestyle.

Once a month we'll take a journey through the hip openers of a variety of yoga disciplines.

Yoga and Hang drum Sessions

Hang drums have been designed after years of research into the percussion instruments. There are a number of notes and tone fields around the surface giving rise to different quality sounds. The sound produced with hang drums is very warm and softer than all other percussion instruments. Due to the richness of the sound produced, it has a healing effect upon the mind and the body.

In this class, we’re combining these healing sounds with the healing power of yoga and meditation. The teachers will guide you through this class with nice sounds and a hatha-based yoga sequence followed by meditation. Their goal is to let you leave this class without any tensions or stress, and with a big smile on your face!

The word Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit language. ‘Ayur’, originally ‘ayuh’, means life and ‘veda’ is the wisdom or insightful knowledge. Ayurveda can thus be translated as ‘the knowledge or science of life’. Ayurveda offers knowledge to increase awareness of your individual mind-body constitution and the factors that may cause imbalance and shows you ways to create balance by regulating the systems of the body through diet, lifestyle, herbs, yoga, and meditation. The practice of Ayurveda is designed to promote human happiness, health, and creative growth.

During our monthly special classes, we will be looking at the changes in the season and how you can integrate this into your Asana practice. This class will be partly theory and partly asana practice.

Acu Yin Yoga

Acu-Yoga is a practice that combines two disciplines: Acupressure and Yoga. Both techniques aim to improve and rebalance energy circulation. From this perspective, it is believed that when there is a stagnation in energy circulation it will cause imbalance, disharmony, and disease. Tension accumulates in the body due to underuse or overuse of muscles, repetitive movements, emotional repression or a poor diet. Accumulated tension can increase body toxicity and weaken the immune system.

Yoga and in particular Yin Yoga with its long-held poses is an effective way to stretch meridians. It increases body awareness and the use of breath as support through the overall process.

With acupressure, we manipulate the body through the stimulation of meridian points on limbs, the torso, and the head.

When we use Yin and Acupressure together we enhance their effect. The practice helps release energy flow into meridians and nourishes the organs in all body systems. During the class, we will create a balance of emotions and a feeling of overall well being.

IMPORTANT
Participants are invited to come 15 minutes before the class starts to be shown the correct acupressure points that will be used during the session.

Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra for self-healing!

In these healing sessions, we will use the wholesome and transformative powers of restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to return to our essence: a healthy, whole, happy being.

In our daily lives we accumulate tension, our heads are full and we can feel the stress in our body. Restorative yoga allows you to completely let go and release the body so it can relax and restore. We use props to support the body so the poses can work in its most beneficial way. Making it suitable for anybody, even when you are physically not feeling well. Restorative yoga is not so much about doing, working, or putting the effort in it. It is about letting go and surrender, being with the stillness. That is where the challenge is. The body can soften and open, space is being created for the energy to flow and the nervous system can balance.

Yoga Nidra is only deepening that state of relaxation and recovery. It is an effortless practice where you lie comfortably and listen to a voice guiding you into a conscious sleep. You will drop into a state
with progressively slower brainwaves, where the body naturally recovers and heals and you find true rest. You will have the benefits of an advanced meditative practice without any effort.

goals, and desires, thoughts and emotions are going like crazy. There we pull the plug and let all the craziness float through until we are left with the silence behind it all. We shift from thinking to feeling and from doing into being and we are no longer controlled by our mind. We surrender to complete relaxation.

SESSION 2 ๑ Release Energy and Let It Flow

After we have found stillness and turned to our inside world, we will focus on our Pranamaya Kosha, our energy body. Prana is our life force energy, the body’s healing energy. When we have stilled our minds and we are not consumed by our thoughts and emotions, prana can focus on healing. We will raise the level of energy in our body and let it flow freely, opening up our chakra’s. Then by directing our energy, we can release physical and emotional blocks. Emotions that are repressed or just too much to handle cause energy blocks in our body - think of stress causing physical ailments. Without having to dig into the original problem we can release the energy and let it flow through again.

Inside Flow Yoga ๑ Sing A Song With Your Body

Music is the driving force behind Inside Flow Yoga Classes, framing the entire sequence to create an integrated, melodic experience. As you are carried by the music, you gently move from one posture to another, as you enter a trance-like, meditative state. Movement and breath are one.

To tap into this internal rhythm you realize that they are already synchronized. What is found here then is the experience of enhancing the breath. In this way, we focus on the core idea of expressing the movement between the postures, rather than reaching toward the end goal of the posture.

In Inside Flow, you are singing a song with your body. Each language is unique, and you will be encouraged to find your own. With varied sequences of upbeat, fast, slow and relaxing rhythms, the music will range from Hip Hop to Pop. This evolution of Vinyasa Yoga is wonderfully amusing and heartwarming!

Hatha and Breath Work

In these series, we'll dive into Pranayama breathing techniques. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Though it's often associated with rapid breathing, Pranayama is all about control of the breath. The breath is the tool that unites body with the mind. When linking breath with movement, we gradually develop a relationship with the length, depth and pace of our inhale and exhale. This synchronicity creates balance.

In this class, we will start with the practice of asana (poses), the third limb of the eight limbs of yoga mentioned in the yoga sutras of Patanjali. By starting the class with asana (poses), the energy will flow through the body and you will sit more comfortable in a meditative pose to practice pranayama.

The asana's will be followed by the practice of pranayama, the fourth limb in the yoga sutras. The practice of pranayama will balance the energy in your body and will clear your mind from thoughts. This will help you get deeper into a guided meditation at the end of the class.

About Ramon Kinkel
Years ago, on his search for a healthier and more balanced life, Ramon found the path of yoga. Ramon spent months in ashrams, where he learned and experienced the deepest meanings of yoga. After his spiritual birthday, his guru, dr. Guruji Omanand gave him the name Rama Anand, named after the Hindu god Rama. As Rama Anand, he became teacher and host at Paramanand Ashram Indore, India. Currently his classes include traditional Hatha yoga asana, pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation.

๑ MULADHARA & SVADHISTANA

The first workshop is about grounding and finding security. Muladhara & Svadhistana are the first two chakras, which are about grounding. The Muladhara chakra is connected with the element earth and means root support, while the Svadhistana is connected with water. Muladhara is representing physical and emotional grounding. It’s about survival, we cannot survive without our roots.
Svadhistana is the connection to joy, pleasure and desire. How can my creativity and my sensual self be fulfilled and balanced through the work I do in the world?
The physical focus this evening will be at the lower body parts, the feet, legs & pelvic floor.

๑ ANAHATA
Date: Thursday the 14th of February from 20:00-22:00

This evening is all about the heart, an evening of transformation. The opening of the chest, stretches in the shoulders and the arms. Anahata is connected to the element Air and is the level of transformation, of turning away from the material and sensual to the spiritual. It is the middle centre of the seven chakras, the balancing point.


๑ MANIPURA & VISUDDHA
Date: Thursday the 14th of March from 20:00-22:00

Today is about Manipura & Vissudha chakra. Manipura is the centre of fire. A place of your identity, will power, self-esteem. The seat of our determination. A place where we digest food, and also life. Related to the question, who am I?
Visuddha on the other hand is the centre of communication to the world, but it’s also the centre of listening. How do I express that and how do I communicate with others?
This evening will be about both, about the loop between these two. The relationship with ourselves is influencing the relation to others.
We will be doing a bit of pranayama to create more relaxation, focusing on twisting and soften the belly in the different poses.


๑ AJNA & SAHASRARA
Date: Thursday the 11th of April from 20:00-22:00

The last evening is about these last two higher chakras. The Ajna & Sahasrara; the third eye and the crown. Ajna is the seat of our wisdom and consciousness. Sahasrara chakra is the chakra of our highest spiritual consciousness. It is about eventually being non-attached to the self. An evening to explore the higher part of ourselves. Through poses being blind-folded and meditation.

Hang drums have been designed after years of research into the percussion instruments. There are a number of notes and tone fields around the surface giving rise to different quality sounds. The sound produced with hang drums is very warm and softer than all other percussion instruments. Due to the richness of the sound produced, it has a healing effect upon the mind and the body.

Zen Special is a practice that combines two disciplines: Yin Yoga and Body Scan meditation. Both practices aim to increase body awareness.

The long-held poses of the restorative Yin Yoga effectively stretch the meridians (the energy channels that oversee the energy flow of the body) which increases body awareness.

The Body Scan practice is a meditation that guides you systematically through various parts of your body, starting from your feet to your face. This meditation helps you to be more conscious about your bodily sensations, reduce stress, relieve tension, and decrease bodily aches.

With the combination of powerful practices such as Yin Yoga and Body Scan not only the richness of the class is enhanced, but also the effect. The conscious focus on your body can make you aware about sources of pain and tension you weren’t aware of before, such as clenched muscles. This class therefore provides a great opportunity to notice what your body feels and needs, which can help improve your well-being!

Your hips are the connection point of both the spine and the legs. The ‘hip girdle’ and the 17-25 muscles that it encompasses are the central station of the body. So working on hip mobility improves your relationship with the rest of your body and its overall wellbeing. In yoga we are able to move our ball-and-socket hip joint through its full range of motion, and move in ways that break our usual patterns, whether those patterns are ones of underuse from a sedentary lifestyle, or overuse of particular muscles and neglect of others from a very active lifestyle.

Acu Yin Yoga

Acu-Yoga is a practice that combines two disciplines: Acupressure and Yoga. Both techniques aim to improve and rebalance energy circulation. From this perspective, it is believed that when there is a stagnation in energy circulation it will cause imbalance, disharmony, and disease. Tension accumulates in the body due to underuse or overuse of muscles, repetitive movements, emotional repression or a poor diet. Accumulated tension can increase body toxicity and weaken the immune system.

Yoga and in particular Yin Yoga with its long-held poses is an effective way to stretch meridians. It increases body awareness and the use of breath as support through the overall process.

With acupressure, we manipulate the body through the stimulation of meridian points on limbs, the torso, and the head.

When we use Yin and Acupressure together we enhance their effect. The practice helps release energy flow into meridians and nourishes the organs in all body systems. During the class, we will create a balance of emotions and a feeling of overall well being.

IMPORTANT
Participants are invited to come 15 minutes before the class starts to be shown the correct acupressure points that will be used during the session.

In these healing sessions, we will use the wholesome and transformative powers of restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to return to our essence: a healthy, whole, happy being.

In our daily lives we accumulate tension, our heads are full and we can feel the stress in our body. Restorative yoga allows you to completely let go and release the body so it can relax and restore. We use props to support the body so the poses can work in its most beneficial way. Making it suitable for anybody, even when you are physically not feeling well. Restorative yoga is not so much about doing, working, or putting the effort in it. It is about letting go and surrender, being with the stillness. That is where the challenge is. The body can soften and open, space is being created for the energy to flow and the nervous system can balance.

Yoga Nidra is only deepening that state of relaxation and recovery. It is an effortless practice where you lie comfortably and listen to a voice guiding you into a conscious sleep. You will drop into a state
with progressively slower brainwaves, where the body naturally recovers and heals and you find true rest. You will have the benefits of an advanced meditative practice without any effort.

SESSION 2 ๑ Release Energy and Let It Flow

After we have found stillness and turned to our inside world, we will focus on our Pranamaya Kosha, our energy body. Prana is our life force energy, the body’s healing energy. When we have stilled our minds and we are not consumed by our thoughts and emotions, prana can focus on healing. We will raise the level of energy in our body and let it flow freely, opening up our chakra’s. Then by directing our energy, we can release physical and emotional blocks. Emotions that are repressed or just too much to handle cause energy blocks in our body - think of stress causing physical ailments. Without having to dig into the original problem we can release the energy and let it flow through again.

Inside Flow Yoga ๑ Sing A Song With Your Body

Music is the driving force behind Inside Flow Yoga Classes, framing the entire sequence to create an integrated, melodic experience. As you are carried by the music, you gently move from one posture to another, as you enter a trance-like, meditative state. Movement and breath are one.

To tap into this internal rhythm you realize that they are already synchronized. What is found here then is the experience of enhancing the breath. In this way, we focus on the core idea of expressing the movement between the postures, rather than reaching toward the end goal of the posture.

In Inside Flow, you are singing a song with your body. Each language is unique, and you will be encouraged to find your own. With varied sequences of upbeat, fast, slow and relaxing rhythms, the music will range from Hip Hop to Pop. This evolution of Vinyasa Yoga is wonderfully amusing and heartwarming!

Hatha and Breath Work

In these series, we'll dive into Pranayama breathing techniques. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Though it's often associated with rapid breathing, Pranayama is all about control of the breath. The breath is the tool that unites body with the mind. When linking breath with movement, we gradually develop a relationship with the length, depth and pace of our inhale and exhale. This synchronicity creates balance.

In this class, we will start with the practice of asana (poses), the third limb of the eight limbs of yoga mentioned in the yoga sutras of Patanjali. By starting the class with asana (poses), the energy will flow through the body and you will sit more comfortable in a meditative pose to practice pranayama.

The asana's will be followed by the practice of pranayama, the fourth limb in the yoga sutras. The practice of pranayama will balance the energy in your body and will clear your mind from thoughts. This will help you get deeper into a guided meditation at the end of the class.

About Ramon Kinkel
Years ago, on his search for a healthier and more balanced life, Ramon found the path of yoga. Ramon spent months in ashrams, where he learned and experienced the deepest meanings of yoga. After his spiritual birthday, his guru, dr. Guruji Omanand gave him the name Rama Anand, named after the Hindu god Rama. As Rama Anand, he became teacher and host at Paramanand Ashram Indore, India. Zen Special is a practice that combines two disciplines: Yin Yoga and Body Scan meditation. Both practices aim to increase body awareness.

The long-held poses of the restorative Yin Yoga effectively stretch the meridians (the energy channels that oversee the energy flow of the body) which increases body awareness.

The Body Scan practice is a meditation that guides you systematically through various parts of your body, starting from your feet to your face. This meditation helps you to be more conscious about your bodily sensations, reduce stress, relieve tension, and decrease bodily aches.

This special class is a gentle and slow asana practice (inspired by the Sivananda hatha yoga tradition), accompanied with soft and soothing guitar music, harmonium, and voice.

There will be time for long relaxations in between the asanas to let the body recharge and to relax the mind. Sound vibrations have a healing effect on our physical, mental and spiritual body and bring them into harmony with our true blissful nature.

During these classes, we invite you to open the heart, to let go, to leave thinking behind and rest in the silence of being.

About Marieke & Dana
Marieke experienced joy, stability, and lightness from her yoga practice and this inspired her to take the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas in 2014. She is drawn to the devotional path of Bhakti yoga and chanting. Her classes are meditative and gentle, guiding people inwards.

Dana grew up in a yoga ashram and was drawn to Indian music, language and mantras from a young age. She guides people into deep relaxation and stillness with gentle guitar play and healing voice. In 2016 she also completed the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas, India.

Your hips are the connection point of both the spine and the legs. The ‘hip girdle’ and the 17-25 muscles that it encompasses are the central station of the body. We could refers to the hips as ‘the mother of all movement. When they’re open, you’ll be much more mobile above and below them’. So working on hip mobility improves your relationship with the rest of your body and its overall wellbeing. Acu Yin Yoga

Acu-Yoga is a practice that combines two disciplines: Acupressure and Yoga. Both techniques aim to improve and rebalance energy circulation. From this perspective, it is believed that when there is a stagnation in energy circulation it will cause imbalance, disharmony, and disease. Tension accumulates in the body due to underuse or overuse of muscles, repetitive movements, emotional repression or a poor diet. Accumulated tension can increase body toxicity and weaken the immune system.

Yoga and in particular Yin Yoga with its long-held poses is an effective way to stretch meridians. It increases body awareness and the use of breath as support through the overall process.

With acupressure, we manipulate the body through the stimulation of meridian points on limbs, the torso, and the head.

When we use Yin and Acupressure together we enhance their effect. The practice helps release energy flow into meridians and nourishes the organs in all body systems. During the class, we will create a balance of emotions and a feeling of overall well being.

IMPORTANT
Participants are invited to come 15 minutes before the class starts to be shown the correct acupressure points that will be used during the session.

Hang drums have been designed after years of research into the percussion instruments. There are a number of notes and tone fields around the surface giving rise to different quality sounds. The sound produced with hang drums is very warm and softer than all other percussion instruments. Due to the richness of the sound produced, it has a healing effect upon the mind and the body.

In this class, we’re combining these healing sounds with the healing power of yoga and meditation. AYURVEDIC LIFESTYLE CLASS

The word Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit language. ‘Ayur’, originally ‘ayuh’, means life and ‘veda’ is the wisdom or insightful knowledge. Ayurveda can thus be translated as ‘the knowledge or science of life’. Ayurveda offers knowledge to increase awareness of your individual mind-body constitution and the factors that may cause imbalance and shows you ways to create balance by regulating the systems of the body through diet, lifestyle, herbs, yoga, and meditation. It is based on the five element theory and in particular the wisdom of how to live according to your unique and individual constitution. The practice of Ayurveda is designed to promote human happiness, health, and creative growth.

During our monthly special classes, we will be looking at the changes in the season and how you can integrate this into your Asana practice. This class will be partly theory and partly asana practice.

Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra for self-healing!

In these healing sessions, we will use the wholesome and transformative powers of restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to return to our essence: a healthy, whole, happy being.

In our daily lives we accumulate tension, our heads are full and we can feel the stress in our body. Restorative yoga allows you to completely let go and release the body so it can relax and restore. We use props to support the body so the poses can work in its most beneficial way. Making it suitable for anybody, even when you are physically not feeling well. Restorative yoga is not so much about doing, working, or putting the effort in it. It is about letting go and surrender, being with the stillness. That is where the challenge is. The body can soften and open, space is being created for the energy to flow and the nervous system can balance.

Yoga Nidra is only deepening that state of relaxation and recovery. It is an effortless practice where you lie comfortably and listen to a voice guiding you into a conscious sleep. You will drop into a state
with progressively slower brainwaves, where the body naturally recovers and heals and you find true rest. You will have the benefits of an advanced meditative practice without any effort.

goals, and desires, thoughts and emotions are going like crazy. There we pull the plug and let all the craziness float through until we are left with the silence behind it all. We shift from thinking to feeling and from doing into being and we are no longer controlled by our mind. We surrender to complete relaxation.

SESSION 2 ๑ Release Energy and Let It Flow

After we have found stillness and turned to our inside world, we will focus on our Pranamaya Kosha, our energy body. Prana is our life force energy, the body’s healing energy. When we have stilled our minds and we are not consumed by our thoughts and emotions, prana can focus on healing. We will raise the level of energy in our body and let it flow freely, opening up our chakra’s. Then by directing our energy, we can release physical and emotional blocks. Emotions that are repressed or just too much to handle cause energy blocks in our body - think of stress causing physical ailments. Without having to dig into the original problem we can release the energy and let it flow through again.

connected to our heart. We can live from our purpose, relying on our intuition, our inner compass or wisdom. In that state we are in total balance, our systems are in balance and our body can function

Inside Flow Yoga ๑ Sing A Song With Your Body

Music is the driving force behind Inside Flow Yoga Classes, framing the entire sequence to create an integrated, melodic experience. As you are carried by the music, you gently move from one posture to another, as you enter a trance-like, meditative state. Movement and breath are one.

To tap into this internal rhythm you realize that they are already synchronized. What is found here then is the experience of enhancing the breath. In this way, we focus on the core idea of expressing the movement between the postures, rather than reaching toward the end goal of the posture.

In Inside Flow, you are singing a song with your body. Each language is unique, and you will be encouraged to find your own. With varied sequences of upbeat, fast, slow and relaxing rhythms, the music will range from Hip Hop to Pop. This evolution of Vinyasa Yoga is wonderfully amusing and heartwarming!

Hatha and Breath Work

In these series, we'll dive into Pranayama breathing techniques. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Though it's often associated with rapid breathing, Pranayama is all about control of the breath. The breath is the tool that unites body with the mind. When linking breath with movement, we gradually develop a relationship with the length, depth and pace of our inhale and exhale. This synchronicity creates balance.

In this class, we will start with the practice of asana (poses), the third limb of the eight limbs of yoga mentioned in the yoga sutras of Patanjali. By starting the class with asana (poses), the energy will flow through the body and you will sit more comfortable in a meditative pose to practice pranayama.

The asana's will be followed by the practice of pranayama, the fourth limb in the yoga sutras. The practice of pranayama will balance the energy in your body and will clear your mind from thoughts. This will help you get deeper into a guided meditation at the end of the class.

About Ramon Kinkel
Years ago, on his search for a healthier and more balanced life, Ramon found the path of yoga. Ramon spent months in ashrams, where he learned and experienced the deepest meanings of yoga. After his spiritual birthday, his guru, dr. Guruji Omanand gave him the name Rama Anand, named after the Hindu god Rama. As Rama Anand, he became teacher and host at Paramanand Ashram Indore, India. Currently his classes include traditional Hatha yoga asana, pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation.

Zen Special is a practice that combines two disciplines: Yin Yoga and Body Scan meditation. Both practices aim to increase body awareness.

The long-held poses of the restorative Yin Yoga effectively stretch the meridians (the energy channels that oversee the energy flow of the body) which increases body awareness.

The Body Scan practice is a meditation that guides you systematically through various parts of your body, starting from your feet to your face. This meditation helps you to be more conscious about your bodily sensations, reduce stress, relieve tension, and decrease bodily aches.

With the combination of powerful practices such as Yin Yoga and Body Scan not only the richness of the class is enhanced, but also the effect. The conscious focus on your body can make you aware about sources of pain and tension you weren’t aware of before, such as clenched muscles. This class therefore provides a great opportunity to notice what your body feels and needs, which can help improve your well-being!

Hang drums have been designed after years of research into the percussion instruments. There are a number of notes and tone fields around the surface giving rise to different quality sounds. The sound produced with hang drums is very warm and softer than all other percussion instruments. Due to the richness of the sound produced, it has a healing effect upon the mind and the body.

In this class, we’re combining these healing sounds with the healing power of yoga and meditation. Your hips are the connection point of both the spine and the legs. The ‘hip girdle’ and the 17-25 muscles that it encompasses are the central station of the body. We could refers to the hips as ‘the mother of all movement. When they’re open, you’ll be much more mobile above and below them’. So working on hip mobility improves your relationship with the rest of your body and its overall wellbeing. In yoga we are able to move our ball-and-socket hip joint through its full range of motion, and move in ways that break our usual patterns, whether those patterns are ones of underuse from a sedentary lifestyle, or overuse of particular muscles and neglect of others from a very active lifestyle.

Once a month we'll take a journey through the hip openers of a variety of yoga disciplines.

Hatha Yoga and Live Music invite us to relax both body and mind. Sacred music, the vibrations of ancient mantras and traditional hatha yoga practice, all bring us to a space of inner silence and bliss, which is our true nature. We combine yoga and music in a meditative yoga class.

This special class is a gentle and slow asana practice (inspired by the Sivananda hatha yoga tradition), accompanied with soft and soothing guitar music, harmonium, and voice.

There will be time for long relaxations in between the asanas to let the body recharge and to relax the mind. Sound vibrations have a healing effect on our physical, mental and spiritual body and bring them into harmony with our true blissful nature.

During these classes, we invite you to open the heart, to let go, to leave thinking behind and rest in the silence of being.

About Marieke & Dana
Marieke experienced joy, stability, and lightness from her yoga practice and this inspired her to take the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas in 2014. She is drawn to the devotional path of Bhakti yoga and chanting. Her classes are meditative and gentle, guiding people inwards.

Dana grew up in a yoga ashram and was drawn to Indian music, language and mantras from a young age. She guides people into deep relaxation and stillness with gentle guitar play and healing voice. In 2016 she also completed the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas, India.

AYURVEDIC LIFESTYLE CLASS

The word Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit language. ‘Ayur’, originally ‘ayuh’, means life and ‘veda’ is the wisdom or insightful knowledge. Ayurveda can thus be translated as ‘the knowledge or science of life’. Ayurveda offers knowledge to increase awareness of your individual mind-body constitution and the factors that may cause imbalance and shows you ways to create balance by regulating the systems of the body through diet, lifestyle, herbs, yoga, and meditation. It is based on the five element theory and in particular the wisdom of how to live according to your unique and individual constitution. The practice of Ayurveda is designed to promote human happiness, health, and creative growth.

During our monthly special classes, we will be looking at the changes in the season and how you can integrate this into your Asana practice. This class will be partly theory and partly asana practice.

Acu Yin Yoga

Acu-Yoga is a practice that combines two disciplines: Acupressure and Yoga. Both techniques aim to improve and rebalance energy circulation. From this perspective, it is believed that when there is a stagnation in energy circulation it will cause imbalance, disharmony, and disease. Tension accumulates in the body due to underuse or overuse of muscles, repetitive movements, emotional repression or a poor diet. Accumulated tension can increase body toxicity and weaken the immune system.

Yoga and in particular Yin Yoga with its long-held poses is an effective way to stretch meridians. It increases body awareness and the use of breath as support through the overall process.

With acupressure, we manipulate the body through the stimulation of meridian points on limbs, the torso, and the head.

When we use Yin and Acupressure together we enhance their effect. The practice helps release energy flow into meridians and nourishes the organs in all body systems. During the class, we will create a balance of emotions and a feeling of overall well being.

IMPORTANT
Participants are invited to come 15 minutes before the class starts to be shown the correct acupressure points that will be used during the session.

Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra for self-healing!

In these healing sessions, we will use the wholesome and transformative powers of restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to return to our essence: a healthy, whole, happy being.

In our daily lives we accumulate tension, our heads are full and we can feel the stress in our body. Restorative yoga allows you to completely let go and release the body so it can relax and restore. We use props to support the body so the poses can work in its most beneficial way. Making it suitable for anybody, even when you are physically not feeling well. Restorative yoga is not so much about doing, working, or putting the effort in it. It is about letting go and surrender, being with the stillness. That is where the challenge is. The body can soften and open, space is being created for the energy to flow and the nervous system can balance.

Yoga Nidra is only deepening that state of relaxation and recovery. It is an effortless practice where you lie comfortably and listen to a voice guiding you into a conscious sleep. You will drop into a state

SESSION 2 ๑ Release Energy and Let It Flow

After we have found stillness and turned to our inside world, we will focus on our Pranamaya Kosha, our energy body. Prana is our life force energy, the body’s healing energy. When we have stilled our minds and we are not consumed by our thoughts and emotions, prana can focus on healing. We will raise the level of energy in our body and let it flow freely, opening up our chakra’s. Then by directing our energy, we can release physical and emotional blocks. Emotions that are repressed or just too much to handle cause energy blocks in our body - think of stress causing physical ailments. Without having to dig into the original problem we can release the energy and let it flow through again.

Music is the driving force behind Inside Flow Yoga Classes, framing the entire sequence to create an integrated, melodic experience. As you are carried by the music, you gently move from one posture to another, as you enter a trance-like, meditative state. Movement and breath are one.

To tap into this internal rhythm you realize that they are already synchronized. What is found here then is the experience of enhancing the breath. In this way, we focus on the core idea of expressing the movement between the postures, rather than reaching toward the end goal of the posture.

In Inside Flow, you are singing a song with your body. Each language is unique, and you will be encouraged to find your own. With varied sequences of upbeat, fast, slow and relaxing rhythms, the music will range from Hip Hop to Pop. This evolution of Vinyasa Yoga is wonderfully amusing and heartwarming!

Hatha and Breath Work

In these series, we'll dive into Pranayama breathing techniques. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Though it's often associated with rapid breathing, Pranayama is all about control of the breath. The breath is the tool that unites body with the mind. When linking breath with movement, we gradually develop a relationship with the length, depth and pace of our inhale and exhale. This synchronicity creates balance.

In this class, we will start with the practice of asana (poses), the third limb of the eight limbs of yoga mentioned in the yoga sutras of Patanjali. By starting the class with asana (poses), the energy will flow through the body and you will sit more comfortable in a meditative pose to practice pranayama.

The asana's will be followed by the practice of pranayama, the fourth limb in the yoga sutras. The practice of pranayama will balance the energy in your body and will clear your mind from thoughts. This will help you get deeper into a guided meditation at the end of the class.

About Ramon Kinkel
Years ago, on his search for a healthier and more balanced life, Ramon found the path of yoga. Ramon spent months in ashrams, where he learned and experienced the deepest meanings of yoga. After his spiritual birthday, his guru, dr. Guruji Omanand gave him the name Rama Anand, named after the Hindu god Rama. As Rama Anand, he became teacher and host at Paramanand Ashram Indore, India. Currently his classes include traditional Hatha yoga asana, pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation.

Hang drums have been designed after years of research into the percussion instruments. There are a number of notes and tone fields around the surface giving rise to different quality sounds. The sound produced with hang drums is very warm and softer than all other percussion instruments. Due to the richness of the sound produced, it has a healing effect upon the mind and the body.

In this class, we’re combining these healing sounds with the healing power of yoga and meditation. Zen Special is a practice that combines two disciplines: Yin Yoga and Body Scan meditation. Both practices aim to increase body awareness.

The long-held poses of the restorative Yin Yoga effectively stretch the meridians (the energy channels that oversee the energy flow of the body) which increases body awareness.

The Body Scan practice is a meditation that guides you systematically through various parts of your body, starting from your feet to your face. This meditation helps you to be more conscious about your bodily sensations, reduce stress, relieve tension, and decrease bodily aches.

With the combination of powerful practices such as Yin Yoga and Body Scan not only the richness of the class is enhanced, but also the effect. The conscious focus on your body can make you aware about sources of pain and tension you weren’t aware of before, such as clenched muscles. Your hips are the connection point of both the spine and the legs. The ‘hip girdle’ and the 17-25 muscles that it encompasses are the central station of the body. We could refers to the hips as ‘the mother of all movement. When they’re open, you’ll be much more mobile above and below them’. So working on hip mobility improves your relationship with the rest of your body and its overall wellbeing. In yoga we are able to move our ball-and-socket hip joint through its full range of motion, and move in ways that break our usual patterns, whether those patterns are ones of underuse from a sedentary lifestyle, or overuse of particular muscles and neglect of others from a very active lifestyle.

AYURVEDIC LIFESTYLE CLASS

The word Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit language. ‘Ayur’, originally ‘ayuh’, means life and ‘veda’ is the wisdom or insightful knowledge. Ayurveda can thus be translated as ‘the knowledge or science of life’. Ayurveda offers knowledge to increase awareness of your individual mind-body constitution and the factors that may cause imbalance and shows you ways to create balance by regulating the systems of the body through diet, lifestyle, herbs, yoga, and meditation. It is based on the five element theory and in particular the wisdom of how to live according to your unique and individual constitution. The practice of Ayurveda is designed to promote human happiness, health, and creative growth.

During our monthly special classes, we will be looking at the changes in the season and how you can integrate this into your Asana practice. This class will be partly theory and partly asana practice.

Acu Yin Yoga

Acu-Yoga is a practice that combines two disciplines: Acupressure and Yoga. Both techniques aim to improve and rebalance energy circulation. From this perspective, it is believed that when there is a stagnation in energy circulation it will cause imbalance, disharmony, and disease. Tension accumulates in the body due to underuse or overuse of muscles, repetitive movements, emotional repression or a poor diet. Accumulated tension can increase body toxicity and weaken the immune system.

Yoga and in particular Yin Yoga with its long-held poses is an effective way to stretch meridians. It increases body awareness and the use of breath as support through the overall process.

With acupressure, we manipulate the body through the stimulation of meridian points on limbs, the torso, and the head.

When we use Yin and Acupressure together we enhance their effect. The practice helps release energy flow into meridians and nourishes the organs in all body systems. During the class, we will create a balance of emotions and a feeling of overall well being.

IMPORTANT
Participants are invited to come 15 minutes before the class starts to be shown the correct acupressure points that will be used during the session.

Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra for self-healing!

In these healing sessions, we will use the wholesome and transformative powers of restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra to return to our essence: a healthy, whole, happy being.

In our daily lives we accumulate tension, our heads are full and we can feel the stress in our body. Restorative yoga allows you to completely let go and release the body so it can relax and restore. We use props to support the body so the poses can work in its most beneficial way. Making it suitable for anybody, even when you are physically not feeling well. Restorative yoga is not so much about doing, working, or putting the effort in it. It is about letting go and surrender, being with the stillness. That is where the challenge is. The body can soften and open, space is being created for the energy to flow and the nervous system can balance.

Yoga Nidra is only deepening that state of relaxation and recovery. It is an effortless practice where you lie comfortably and listen to a voice guiding you into a conscious sleep. You will drop into a state
with progressively slower brainwaves, where the body naturally recovers and heals and you find true rest. You will have the benefits of an advanced meditative practice without any effort.

SESSION 2 ๑ Release Energy and Let It Flow

After we have found stillness and turned to our inside world, we will focus on our Pranamaya Kosha, our energy body. Prana is our life force energy, the body’s healing energy. When we have stilled our minds and we are not consumed by our thoughts and emotions, prana can focus on healing. We will raise the level of energy in our body and let it flow freely, opening up our chakra’s. Then by directing our energy, we can release physical and emotional blocks. Emotions that are repressed or just too much to handle cause energy blocks in our body - think of stress causing physical ailments. Without having to dig into the original problem we can release the energy and let it flow through again.

Music is the driving force behind Inside Flow Yoga Classes, framing the entire sequence to create an integrated, melodic experience. As you are carried by the music, you gently move from one posture to another, as you enter a trance-like, meditative state. Movement and breath are one.

To tap into this internal rhythm you realize that they are already synchronized. What is found here then is the experience of enhancing the breath. In this way, we focus on the core idea of expressing the movement between the postures, rather than reaching toward the end goal of the posture.

In Inside Flow, you are singing a song with your body. Each language is unique, and you will be encouraged to find your own. With varied sequences of upbeat, fast, slow and relaxing rhythms, the music will range from Hip Hop to Pop. This evolution of Vinyasa Yoga is wonderfully amusing and heartwarming!

Hatha and Breath Work

In these series, we'll dive into Pranayama breathing techniques. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Though it's often associated with rapid breathing, Pranayama is all about control of the breath. The breath is the tool that unites body with the mind. When linking breath with movement, we gradually develop a relationship with the length, depth and pace of our inhale and exhale. This synchronicity creates balance.

In this class, we will start with the practice of asana (poses), the third limb of the eight limbs of yoga mentioned in the yoga sutras of Patanjali. By starting the class with asana (poses), the energy will flow through the body and you will sit more comfortable in a meditative pose to practice pranayama.

The asana's will be followed by the practice of pranayama, the fourth limb in the yoga sutras. The practice of pranayama will balance the energy in your body and will clear your mind from thoughts. This will help you get deeper into a guided meditation at the end of the class.

About Ramon Kinkel
Years ago, on his search for a healthier and more balanced life, Ramon found the path of yoga. Ramon spent months in ashrams, where he learned and experienced the deepest meanings of yoga. After his spiritual birthday, his guru, dr. Guruji Omanand gave him the name Rama Anand, named after the Hindu god Rama. As Rama Anand, he became teacher and host at Paramanand Ashram Indore, India. Currently his classes include traditional Hatha yoga asana, pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation.

Zen Special is a practice that combines two disciplines: Yin Yoga and Body Scan meditation. Both practices aim to increase body awareness.

The long-held poses of the restorative Yin Yoga effectively stretch the meridians (the energy channels that oversee the energy flow of the body) which increases body awareness.

The Body Scan practice is a meditation that guides you systematically through various parts of your body, starting from your feet to your face. This meditation helps you to be more conscious about your bodily sensations, reduce stress, relieve tension, and decrease bodily aches.

Hang drums have been designed after years of research into the percussion instruments. There are a number of notes and tone fields around the surface giving rise to different quality sounds. The sound produced with hang drums is very warm and softer than all other percussion instruments. Due to the richness of the sound produced, it has a healing effect upon the mind and the body.

In this class, we’re combining these healing sounds with the healing power of yoga and meditation. The teachers will guide you through this class with nice sounds and a hatha-based yoga sequence followed by meditation. Their goal is to let you leave this class without any tensions or stress, and with a big smile on your face!

Your hips are the connection point of both the spine and the legs. The ‘hip girdle’ and the 17-25 muscles that it encompasses are the central station of the body. We could refers to the hips as ‘the mother of all movement. When they’re open, you’ll be much more mobile above and below them’. So working on hip mobility improves your relationship with the rest of your body and its overall wellbeing. In yoga we are able to move our ball-and-socket hip joint through its full range of motion, and move in ways that break our usual patterns, whether those patterns are ones of underuse from a sedentary lifestyle, or overuse of particular muscles and neglect of others from a very active lifestyle.

Once a month we'll take a journey through the hip openers of a variety of yoga disciplines.

Hatha Yoga and Live Music invite us to relax both body and mind. Sacred music, the vibrations of ancient mantras and traditional hatha yoga practice, all bring us to a space of inner silence and bliss, which is our true nature. We combine yoga and music in a meditative yoga class.

This special class is a gentle and slow asana practice (inspired by the Sivananda hatha yoga tradition), accompanied with soft and soothing guitar music, harmonium, and voice.

There will be time for long relaxations in between the asanas to let the body recharge and to relax the mind. Sound vibrations have a healing effect on our physical, mental and spiritual body and bring them into harmony with our true blissful nature.

During these classes, we invite you to open the heart, to let go, to leave thinking behind and rest in the silence of being.

About Marieke & Dana
Marieke experienced joy, stability, and lightness from her yoga practice and this inspired her to take the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas in 2014. She is drawn to the devotional path of Bhakti yoga and chanting. Her classes are meditative and gentle, guiding people inwards.

Dana grew up in a yoga ashram and was drawn to Indian music, language and mantras from a young age. She guides people into deep relaxation and stillness with gentle guitar play and healing voice. In 2016 she also completed the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training in the Himalayas, India.

AYURVEDIC LIFESTYLE CLASS

The word Ayurveda is derived from the Sanskrit language. ‘Ayur’, originally ‘ayuh’, means life and ‘veda’ is the wisdom or insightful knowledge. Ayurveda can thus be translated as ‘the knowledge or science of life’. Ayurveda offers knowledge to increase awareness of your individual mind-body constitution and the factors that may cause imbalance and shows you ways to create balance by regulating the systems of the body through diet, lifestyle, herbs, yoga, and meditation. It is based on the five element theory and in particular the wisdom of how to live according to your unique and individual constitution. The practice of Ayurveda is designed to promote human happiness, health, and creative growth.

During our monthly special classes, we will be looking at the changes in the season and how you can integrate this into your Asana practice. This class will be partly theory and partly asana practice.

Zen Special is a practice that combines two disciplines: Yin Yoga and Body Scan meditation. Both practices aim to increase body awareness.

The long-held poses of the restorative Yin Yoga effectively stretch the meridians (the energy channels that oversee the energy flow of the body) which increases body awareness.

The Body Scan practice is a meditation that guides you systematically through various parts of your body, starting from your feet to your face. This meditation helps you to be more conscious about your bodily sensations, reduce stress, relieve tension, and decrease bodily aches.

With the combination of powerful practices such as Yin Yoga and Body Scan not only the richness of the class is enhanced, but also the effect. The conscious focus on your body can make you aware about sources of pain and tension you weren’t aware of before, such as clenched muscles. This class therefore provides a great opportunity to notice what your body feels and needs, which can help improve your well-being!

Four nights to deepen and explore your yin practice and chakra meditation. Every evening is specified on one or two chakras. The seven main chakras we focus on are connected to our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. Guided through the varied poses, specified at the different chakras of the evening. Ending of course with a chakra meditation.


๑ MULADHARA & SVADHISTANA
Date: Thursday the 10th of January from 20:00-21:30

The first workshop is about grounding and finding security. Muladhara & Svadhistana are the first two chakras, which are about grounding. The Muladhara chakra is connected with the element earth and means root support, while the Svadhistana is connected with water. Muladhara is representing physical and emotional grounding. It’s about survival, we cannot survive without our roots.
Svadhistana is the connection to joy, pleasure and desire. How can my creativity and my sensual self be fulfilled and balanced through the work I do in the world?
The physical focus this evening will be at the lower body parts, the feet, legs & pelvic floor.

๑ ANAHATA
Date: Thursday the 14th of February from 20:00-22:00

This evening is all about the heart, an evening of transformation. The opening of the chest, stretches in the shoulders and the arms. Anahata is connected to the element Air and is the level of transformation, of turning away from the material and sensual to the spiritual. It is the middle centre of the seven chakras, the balancing point.


๑ MANIPURA & VISUDDHA
Date: Thursday the 14th of March from 20:00-22:00

Today is about Manipura & Vissudha chakra. Manipura is the centre of fire. A place of your identity, will power, self-esteem. The seat of our determination. A place where we digest food, and also life. Related to the question, who am I?
Visuddha on the other hand is the centre of communication to the world, but it’s also the centre of listening. How do I express that and how do I communicate with others?
This evening will be about both, about the loop between these two. The relationship with ourselves is influencing the relation to others.
We will be doing a bit of pranayama to create more relaxation, focusing on twisting and soften the belly in the different poses.


๑ AJNA & SAHASRARA
Date: Thursday the 11th of April from 20:00-22:00

The last evening is about these last two higher chakras. The Ajna & Sahasrara; the third eye and the crown. Ajna is the seat of our wisdom and consciousness. Sahasrara chakra is the chakra of our highest spiritual consciousness. It is about eventually being non-attached to the self. An evening to explore the higher part of ourselves. Through poses being blind-folded and meditation.

Hatha and Breath Work

In these series, we'll dive into Pranayama breathing techniques. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Though it's often associated with rapid breathing, Pranayama is all about control of the breath. The breath is the tool that unites body with the mind. When linking breath with movement, we gradually develop a relationship with the length, depth and pace of our inhale and exhale. This synchronicity creates balance.

In this class, we will start with the practice of asana (poses), the third limb of the eight limbs of yoga mentioned in the yoga sutras of Patanjali. By starting the class with asana (poses), the energy will flow through the body and you will sit more comfortable in a meditative pose to practice pranayama.

The asana's will be followed by the practice of pranayama, the fourth limb in the yoga sutras. The practice of pranayama will balance the energy in your body and will clear your mind from thoughts. This will help you get deeper into a guided meditation at the end of the class.

About Ramon Kinkel
Years ago, on his search for a healthier and more balanced life, Ramon found the path of yoga. Ramon spent months in ashrams, where he learned and experienced the deepest meanings of yoga. After his spiritual birthday, his guru, dr. Guruji Omanand gave him the name Rama Anand, named after the Hindu god Rama. As Rama Anand, he became teacher and host at Paramanand Ashram Indore, India. Currently his classes include traditional Hatha yoga asana, pranayama (yogic breathing exercises) and meditation.
