DEEP REStorative sessions

Restorative yoga traditionally targets the nervous system, up-regulating the parasympathetic (rest and digest) response and down-regulating neuromuscular activity to create and maintain a state of equilibrium and optimal health in the body. Through the art of masterful prop arrangement (otherwise known as ‘Bolster Ballet’) you can maximize these intentions, addressing individual circumstances including posture, limited flexibility, hyper-mobility, injuries, and other musculoskeletal concerns.

Once a month on Wednesday from 20:00-21:45

YIN & Qi GONG

Yin Yoga and Qi Gong are not like other workouts. While a long swim or jog might leave you feeling drained, ancient mind-body practices like these have the power to do just the opposite. They produce more energy than they consume. When we practice Yoga or Qi Gong, we feel calm, invigorated, and clear-headed. We experience a sense of renewal on all levels.

Once a month on Saturday from 16:15-17:45

Note: You can participate in this Special Class with your membership, 10-ride pass, 5-ride pass or OneFit card.

HIP OPENERS

Your hips are the connection point of both the spine and the legs. The ‘hip girdle’ and the 17-25 muscles that it encompasses are the central station of the body. We could refers to the hips as ‘the mother of all movement. When they’re open, you’ll be much more mobile above and below them’. So working on hip mobility improves your relationship with the rest of your body and its overall wellbeing. In yoga we are able to move our ball-and-socket hip joint through its full range of motion, and move in ways that break our usual patterns, whether those patterns are ones of underuse from a sedentary lifestyle, or overuse of particular muscles and neglect of others from a very active lifestyle.

Once a month we'll take a journey through the hip openers of a variety of yoga disciplines.

Once a month on Thursday from 20:15-21:45

the master class series

In this monthly masterclass Suze gives you the opportunity to dive deep in every part of the practice.

Taking our time, we ground ourselves into the space through meditation and pranayama before going on a journey through a creative sequence of asanas that intelligently build on each other, preparing your body for more challenging poses. Throughout the practice you will learn how to use correct alignment to build strength and flexibility while practicing in a safe and constructive way. The class will be sealed with grounding poses and a deep, restorative savasana.

Each month Suze will explore a different theme, taking you into deep backbends one month and exploring hand balances the next. The masterclasses offer you the opportunity to take your practice to the next level, while starting your Saturday with a open body and a nurtured mind.

(Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra)

The art of relaxation

“The practice of yoga nidra is the act of hearing and the act of feeling, these are the only important factors. In yoga nidra you function on the level of awareness plus the level of listening. In dreams you have no control, in yoga nidra you are the creator of the dream”.
Swami Satyananda Saraswati

Yoga nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. You will learn and experience to relax consciously.
In combination with yin yoga we want to give you a full experience of total relaxation in 1.5 hours. We will prepare ourselves for winter and strengthen the kidney energy. This will charge your battery! We will finish the class with drinking a vegan chai together.

HATHA YOGA & LIVE MUSIC

Traditional Hatha Yoga is an old form of yoga based on the Sutra’s of Pantanjali. It is a gentle form of yoga, where we search for the essence of movement and asana’s from an inner perspective. Traditional Hatha Yoga is rooted in these teachings: Practice yoga in softness, stability and comfort and expand your practice from this place and this place only. Traditional yoga is for every-body and every level. With this Special Class we'll have a super gentle form of Hatha Yoga combined with the beautiful live music from Dana van Breukelen. You can listen to her music here

Once a month on Wednesday from 20:00-21:45

Note: You can participate in this Special Class with your membership, 10-ride pass, 5-ride pass or OneFit card.

YOGA & PRANAYAMA

Every month at The Conscious Club with Ramon Kinkel we have a special Yoga & Pranayama class. Pranayama is derived from 2 Sanskrit words - Prana (life force) and Ayama (control). Therefore, in its broadest description, Prananyama would mean the control of the flow of life force.

During breathing for Pranayama inhalation (puraka) stimulates the system and fills the lungs with fresh air; retention (kumbhaka) raises the internal temperature and plays an important part in increasing the absorption of oxygen; exhalation (rechak) causes the diaphragm to return to the original position and air full of toxins and impurities is forced out by the contraction of inter-costal muscles. These are the main components leading to Pranayama which massage the abdominal muscles and tone up the working of various organs of the body. Due to the proper functions of these organs, vital energy flows to all the systems. The success of Pranayama depends on proper ratios being maintained between inhalation, exhalation and retention.

These classes are very suitable for all Ayurvedic constitutions.

Once a month on Wednesday from 20:00-21:15

Note: You can participate in this Special Class with your membership, 10-ride pass, 5-ride pass or OneFit card.
