Yoga & Psychology ๑ Setting Intentions For A Conscious Lifestyle

Yoga can help you to develop a more conscious, happy and healthy lifestyle, thereby contributing to a more harmonious and sustainable world.

A SERIES OF 4 SPECIAL CLASSES
In this course, you will learn how to make the changes that you want to see in the world. We will go back to basics by exploring our own intentions and values. Bringing your awareness to your deepest intentions will help you to live in line with them. We will use principles from yoga philosophy as well as modern psychology to make a shift in your life, working towards the fulfillment of your intentions.

Over the course of four special classes, you will not only develop a deeper understanding of these principles, but also learn practical tools to make change possible. By the end of the course, you will feel empowered to make sustainable changes in your life.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The classes will guide you through core themes from yoga philosophy. You will experience the meaning of these themes during the yoga practice, which is mainly based on traditional hatha. We will do some gentle sequences, holding the poses for some time and alternating with relaxation. The practice is simple in its form, but helps you to dive deeper by exploring themes from yoga philosophy throughout the class. It is accessible for all levels, no former knowledge or experience is necessary.

OVERVIEW OF THE CLASSES
Every class will focus on a different topic.

1. BACK TO BASICS
The first class is about Back to Basics. You will learn how the foundations of yoga philosophy encourage you to live a conscious life. In the practice, you will tune into your own values and intentions, and learn how to use these both on and off the mat.

2. HABIT & CHANGE
The second class is about Habit & Change. You will learn how yoga makes you feel empowered to make changes in a positive direction. Realizing how our automatic patterns contribute to harm at the personal level, but also at the broader environmental and societal level, is the first step to start changing. Then you will experience how small changes can make a big difference, especially if we do this all together.

3. LIFESTYLE DETOX
The third class focuses on a Lifestyle Detox. With everything you have learned about yoga philosophy, you will apply these principles to your daily life. It’s about letting go of the things you no longer need, thereby minimizing your impact on the planet. It’s also about cultivating clarity in your mind, that helps you to keep making conscious choices over time.

4. SUSTAINABLE CHANGE
The fourth and final class is all about Sustainable Change. We’ll practice compassion and tap into a sense of connection. Staying connected to our intentions, but also to each other, allows us to stay true to our ideals. At the same time, starting where we are and allowing yourself to explore a new way of living are essential for sustainable change. Sometimes we fail. Sometimes we should ask for support. It’s a long-term process - but if you have started this course, you are definitely on the right way.
