Yin & Sound Bath ๑ Double Tree Hotel

Yin & Fascia x Double Tree Hotel.png

Yin & Sound Bath ๑ Double Tree Hotel

The class starts with a traditional Yin yoga sequence. We will be holding poses for a long period of time so we can access energetic pathways, organs, deep tissues and emotions. When practiced along with breath and awareness, Yin postures are a beautiful opportunity to assess and transform our current state of being.

Then follows an Alchemy crystal singing bowls sound bath.
Based on ancient healing techniques, the vibrations of sound work on a cellular level to recalibrate the mind, body, and spirit. These healing frequencies stimulate brain waves that promote deep rest, emotional release and allow energetic transformation. The alchemy crystal singing bowls create a unique experience as you have the added elements of gemstones, minerals, precious metals or earth substances which are amplified in the sound vibrations making for a rich and deeply healing tonal blanket. You will be lying down on your back, in a comfortable setting, following my voice for a guided meditation while being bathed in the sonic waves.

Yin & Fascia Trigger Point Release ๑ Double Tree Hotel

Yin & Fascia x Double Tree Hotel.png

Yin & Fascia Trigger Point Release ๑ Double Tree Hotel

In this class we use massage balls to treat trigger points (knots), and fascial restrictions. Often they are responsible for pain and a reduced range of movement. Creating space between tissues improve our general health and free us from unnecessary tension.

An hour of slow mindful movements to encourage muscles to let go and soften the (myo)fascial body scaffolding.

How does it work?

We use of the balls to pass over tissues with a simple back and forth action or pausing on top of painful area, patiently and slowly , taking time to actually feel the tissue change shape.
We gently stretch , recognizing and respecting our edges, without the activation of muscle contraction in response to stretching ( stretch reflex).
We rebound, giving our tissues time to integrate, restore and adapt to their new acquired form.
We breath mindfully throughout the all practice to expel toxins and to improve body awareness and proprioception.

This practice is a weekly guided mindful exploration of our body and an opportunity to learn some practical instrument for self care to use in our daily life.

Yoga ๑ Live Piano ๑ Poetry

yogalivepiano.png

Yoga ๑ Live Piano ๑ Poetry

When you relax and open up, you can feel connected and inspired.

Lu Jong, Tibetan yoga, is a form of Meditation in Movement; it opens up our body, our heart and our mind.
When we are open, we feel connected, not only to ourselves but also to nature and to other living beings. Sometimes we feel as if ideas are 'given' to us, from somewhere in the universe or from deep down inside of us.

Lu Jong helps us to release tension in our body and in our mind. With special movements and breathing exercises we open up our channels and release blocks. Relaxation helps us to let go of fear, grasping, and effort. The way we breathe is very much connected to the way we think. Lu Jong uses bodywork as vehicle to calm down our thoughts and emotions.

This way we can feel more space for new possibilities and inspiration.

About Ninon Van Der Sande:
Ninon learned about the connection of body and mind from a Tibetan Buddhist Master, Tulku Lobsang.
Ninon is an artist whose sculptures and paintings, celebrating nature, are spread over different countries in the world. She feels a connection with Buddhist philosophy of the interdependency of all that exists. When we observe our own mind, we might find some space between thoughts, where creativity can be born.

In this event we will do a series of Lu Jong Movements, a breathing exercise, and in the end we will relax and Ninon will play the piano while citing some of her poems.

The more you go away from your own place
The better you know it

The more you open up
The better you know yourself

The more you can admire an animal
The better you can see truth

The more you can see there are miracles
The livelier you live

At first it all seems a lot
But little by little
All becomes one
