HIIT Yoga

Yoga is a wonderful, transformative practice for stress relief, mindful living techniques and building physical endurance by activating slow-twitch muscle fibres. It helps practitioners gain balance and holistic flexibility in both muscles and joints.

Yoga however, even in powerful, fast flowing classes, simply doesn’t target your fast-twitch muscles, which you need for muscle definition and gains in all-around strength. Nor does it provide enough impact, which improves bone and joint health, or increase your heart rate to trigger true cardiovascular optimisation, fat and calorie burn, and a raise in your metabolic rate.

High Intensity Interval Training

Enter HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) – short, intense bursts of movement with a very high heart rate followed by short periods of rest. In the shortest amount of time, you strengthen the body (including bone and joint health), burn calories and fat, and optimise cardio health as if you had worked out intensely for an hour!

What to expect?

In this class we will combining a vinyasa yoga flow with short bursts of HIIT exercises based on yoga alignment and western anatomy knowledge. These HIIT sessions will be sprinkled throughout the sequence in the style of Tabata: 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest for a maximum time of four minutes. You will flow, sweat, stretch and safely experience the most effective, fun and empowering workout there is!
